Atticus is not like other fathers in maycomb he doesnt hunt or trap, but instaed just sits and reads.

He teaches his children lifes lessons about respecting elders and common courtesy.He also teaches them that you can't judge someone just by their color and race, which is why he is defending Calpurnia's friend. Overall he is a good father.
