Atticus as a father.
Atticus is a Father who respects his children and almost never gets stern with them."shoot all the blue jays you want, if you can hit them, but remember its a sin to kill a mockingbird."(90) Atticus never reminds Jem and Scout about sins except this time. Atticus is not like other fathers in maycomb he doesnt hunt or trap, but instaed just sits and reads.

He teaches his children lifes lessons about respecting elders and common courtesy. He also teaches them that you can't judge someone just by their color and race, which is why he is defending Calpurnia's friend. Overall he is a good father.

Ok Bradman it's time for me to comment. Even though Atticus just sits and reads all the time he's a great father teaching the lessons of life to Jem and Scout in elusive and subtle ways. I agree that Atticus is an excellent father.
